Often it
is found that workplaces may not be so worker friendly and is a cause of different
types of health hazards for the people working there. One such work place involves
the use of asbestos, which poses a great health hazard for the workers there.
People used asbestos as a material in the construction industry as it was
inflammable and it was a poor conductor of electricity. Unfortunately, these
positive benefits of asbestos were reversed by its ill –effects. Studies have
shown that the use of asbestos in the workplace results in a form of cancer
known as Mesothelioma which is the cancer of the chest whereby its inner lining
is affected. People afflicted with cancer due to the presence of asbestos in
the workplace were allowed to engage lawyers who fought cases to prove that the
worker is suffering from cancer that was contracted due to the presence of
asbestos in the workplace.
